This Spring, I created a painting that feels deeply personal — a celebration of transformation after a long season of being in the cocoon.

The butterfly has long symbolized rebirth, renewal, and spiritual awakening. In ancient Greek, the word psyche means both “butterfly” and “soul,” representing emergence into new life. In Christian symbolism, the butterfly reflects resurrection and hope. Across cultures, it reminds us that the quiet cocoon season is not the end — it is preparation for flight.

For this piece, I pressed real leaves into paint and onto the canvas to create organic impressions and texture. Leaves symbolize growth, cycles, and seasonal change — the very process of becoming. The background holds movement and energy, while the butterfly bursts forward in vibrant pinks, oranges, and gold.

This painting represents a season of beautiful transformation for my sweet family and friends — a reminder that after stillness comes color, and after waiting comes expansion.

And I believe the changes ahead will be even more vibrant in 2026 — a year of bold new beginnings, fresh momentum, and visible breakthrough.

The cocoon was necessary.
The color is coming.
The flight will be radiant.
